Harrison Ford shared strong views on Donald Trump concerning the president’s stance on climate change.
“[Trump] lacks policies; he acts on whims. It terrifies me,” Ford stated in an interview with The Guardian released on Friday. “The ignorance, arrogance, lies, and deceit. [Trump] is aware, but he serves the status quo and profits immensely while the world deteriorates. It’s astonishing. I can’t think of a greater criminal in history.”
Ford also noted that he has been “advocating for this” regarding climate change and the increase in climate-related disasters “for 30 years.” He added, “Everything we’ve predicted about climate change has happened. Why doesn’t that motivate people to change their behaviors? Because of the entrenched status quo.”

"He's losing support because everything he says is untrue," Ford commented about Trump.
Despite Ford's dissatisfaction with Trump's approach to climate change, he remains optimistic about future improvements. "I believe we can address [climate change], that we can gain time to alter behaviors, develop new technologies, and focus more on implementing those policies," he stated to the outlet. "But we must cultivate the political will and intellectual insight to understand that humans are capable of change. We are highly adaptable, we are highly inventive. When we focus on a problem, we can usually solve it."
The Indiana Jones star made these comments a month after Trump declared at the United Nations that climate change is "the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world."
"If you don't abandon this green scam, your country will fail," Trump continued at the UN summit. "You need strong borders and traditional energy sources to be great again."
The Trump administration has also been dismissing scientific evidence of climate change and cutting funding and support for initiatives to combat climate change, including renewable energy projects.
Ford's recent critique of Trump isn't the first time he's spoken against the president. In November 2024, he supported Democratic nominee Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
"Kamala Harris will protect your right to disagree with her on policies or ideas, and then, as we've done for centuries, we'll debate them," Ford said in a video posted on KamalaHQ's X account. "We'll work on them together, and we'll move forward. The other guy demands blind loyalty and seeks revenge. I'm Harrison Ford. I have one vote — just like anyone else — and I'm going to use it to move forward. I'm voting for Kamala Harris."
Ford also expressed he was "frustrated about many things in this country" before directly criticizing Trump. "But the other guy spent four years turning us against each other while embracing dictators and tyrants worldwide," he said. "That's not who we are. We don't need to make America great again. Come on, we are great, but what we need is to work together again. What we need is a president who works for all of us again."
