Martin Scorsese is reportedly teaming up again with Leonardo DiCaprio, joined by Jennifer Lawrence, for the ghost story What Happens At Night. Apple is in discussions to produce and finance the project with Studiocanal.
The parties are considering starting production in January on the story, which is based on a screenplay by Patrick Marber. This screenplay was developed for Studiocanal and is adapted from the novel by Peter Cameron.

What Happens At Night focuses on a couple who travel to a snow-covered European town with the intention of adopting a baby. They check into an unusual hotel where they encounter eccentric characters and come to realize how little they understand about themselves.
Scorsese directed DiCaprio in Killers Of The Flower Moon for Apple Original Films, and the two have worked together on several films, including The Aviator and Shutter Island.
Apple has first-look agreements with Scorsese’s Sikelia Productions and DiCaprio’s Appian Way.
DiCaprio stars in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another at Warner Bros, which is set to open next week and has received excellent reviews as it approaches awards season.
Lawrence stars in Lynne Ramsay’s Die, My Love, which premiered in the Cannes Competition and was acquired by Mubi for North America and several other regions.
