“The Carpenter’s Son” starring Nicolas Cage

Magnolia Pictures has released a new teaser trailer for “The Carpenter’s Son,” a dark genre film described as a ‘young Jesus horror’ movie, featuring Nicolas Cage, Noah Jupe, and FKA twigs.

The film draws inspiration from the apocryphal “Infancy Gospel of Thomas,” a 2nd-century AD text detailing Jesus' childhood.

Set in Roman Egypt, the movie follows a family in hiding. The son, known only as ‘The Boy’ (Jupe), begins to doubt due to another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, The Carpenter (Cage), uncovering his innate powers and a destiny beyond his understanding.

As The Boy wields his power, he and his family face threats both natural and divine. FKA twigs portrays ‘Mother’.

Lotfy Nathan wrote and directs this project, described as a “genre-bending spectacle that defies expectations at every turn.”

The film, produced by Cage, Julie Viez, Alex Hughes, and Riccardo Maddalosso, is set to premiere this Fall.
