"The Moneyshot" is a character-focused dramedy set in Los Angeles in 2005, following a skilled cinematographer who turns to adult filmmaking after being blacklisted from Hollywood. Introduced to this unique career change by a high school friend, the narrative delves into themes of reinvention, friendship, and the realization that professionalism and dignity can be upheld in even the most unexpected situations.

Phillip Darlington brings more than forty years of film and television expertise to his directing, having been involved in nearly every production aspect since starting his career in 1981. His distinct directorial vision is shaped by extensive hands-on experience in technical, creative, and business roles within the industry.
Darlington's career foundation was established through challenging technical roles, notably as Assistant to James Cameron during the six-month underwater filming of "The Abyss" (1989), where he managed Cameron's air supply during complex submersible scenes. He has also held supervisory roles in grip and lighting departments and worked in feature film development for Walt Disney Pictures, Paramount Pictures, and Warner Bros.
As an actor, Darlington has appeared in over 72 films and television shows, including "The West Wing," "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," "Domino," "Bewitched," Wolfgang Petersen's "Poseidon," "The O.C.," "C.S.I. New York," and "Boston Legal." This extensive on-screen experience gives him valuable insight into the director-actor relationship.

First published in Reader Magazine at the age of twelve, Darlington has earned various awards as a creative writer and has developed several screenplays. He produced the television pilot "Kenny's Korner" in 2001 and wrote and produced the short film "Voracious."
His directorial project "The Moneyshot" originated from a 2005 opportunity to explore the adult video industry. Instead of focusing on commercial adult entertainment, Darlington created a character-driven narrative that delves into the psychology of becoming a producer in this world, showcasing his talent for uncovering compelling human stories in unexpected settings.
Currently, Darlington runs Darlington Images, a video production company that has been serving Los Angeles and Orange Counties since 2010, specializing in promotional videos, corporate events, and branded content. This commercial work continues to influence his storytelling approach, blending technical expertise, business savvy, and creative instincts honed over decades in the industry.
