You’ll Be a Man, My Son is a modern dramatic short film partly inspired by Rudyard Kipling's poem "If." Zayn is burdened by increasing professional and emotional pressures. Unexpectedly stuck on a rooftop before an important meeting, he encounters Frank, an older man burdened with regret. This chance meeting compels Zayn to face the consequences of hiding his vulnerability, prompting him to reconsider his long-held beliefs about strength.

Meanwhile, Travis, who grew up in a culture dominated by pride and violence, begins to question the notion that power defines manhood.

Through interwoven stories across different generations and backgrounds, You’ll Be a Man My Son challenges inherited myths of masculinity and poses an enduring question: What does it truly mean to be a man?

Yessin Chouaib is a French actor and filmmaker, born and raised in southern France, with Moroccan and Algerian roots. His diverse background shapes his artistic vision and his sensitivity to stories about identity and human complexity. Fueled by a passion for performance and storytelling, he studied in England and then continued his training in Los Angeles at the LA Film School. His work emphasizes character-driven stories that connect personal experiences with social reflection.
