Living UNDONE

The short documentary "Living UN DONE" transcends political boundaries by sharing the stories of individuals and their families, exposing the harsh truths of a criminal justice system that stigmatizes instead of rehabilitating. It calls on society to acknowledge its role and push for a future where healing, understanding, and second chances are accessible to everyone.

'Living UN DONE' marks Cryer's first venture into directing.

Amanda, as a novice director, acknowledges that this narrative isn’t entirely original. Nonetheless, she is dedicated to storytelling that enlightens and challenges beyond fleeting satisfaction or short-term commercial success.

Years ago, Amanda was diagnosed with two brain tumors and multiple brain lesions. Subsequently, she faced a series of diagnoses including traumatic brain injuries, POTS, cerebral small vessel disease, Multiple Sclerosis, May-Thurner Syndrome, CPTSD, and anxiety. As these conditions advanced, her cognitive abilities diminished and her mobility worsened, leading to unemployment and occasional homelessness. For nearly eight years, her life was a relentless journey of bedridden days, numerous medical appointments, and constant care.

She has regained significant mental clarity and mobility beyond a wheelchair or walker, though she sometimes uses a cane or support for balance. Despite ongoing challenges and debilitating symptoms like focal seizures, vertigo, balance issues, dizziness, fatigue, and near-syncope episodes, she chose to cultivate joy and resilience. She turned to the online world to share her mission: to unite humanity, encourage others to share their resilience stories, and remind people to persevere—even when living with invisible chronic illnesses. Her purpose evolved to empower others with the tools that aided her transformation, elevating their causes to a global audience.

On the first day of filming Living UN DONE, Amanda had a focal seizure. With the remarkable support of her director of photography and on-set makeup artist, she was taken to a private room, administered the necessary medication, and resumed filming 45 minutes later. This film is a labor of love and necessity—a testament to the belief that these stories need to be shared. Amanda refused to give up because she believes the stakes are higher than her health: ensuring that those involved with the criminal justice system—whether victims or offenders—have a platform for their voices. Recognized by LA Weekly as a Top Social Impact Influencer, she is also listed among the Top 250 Influencers & Voices of LinkedIn, named a Top Thought Leader by Excellence Talks, and awarded as the Top Social Impact Influencer of 2024 by IAOTP. She was recently featured in the bestselling book, "Top 50 Fearless Leaders," and is a lifetime member of WIFTA and a Champion member of WIF. In December 2025, she will be honored at IAOTP’s annual awards gala for her inclusion in the 4th edition of the bestselling 'Top 50 Fearless Leaders' publication, with a dedicated chapter about her life and work.
